Changes and Future of the Website

Hi, everyone. This is Hardy Holdenhart and I have a few things I need to say.

First of all, I apologize for the complete and total lack of any changes or new content on this website. You see, writing books is a very long, laborious process, and it is often difficult to find or think of anything new to post. What’s more, I am still very uncertain about what I want for this website or how to manage it. Along with being busy with a day job and several other responsibilities and things to occupy my mind and schedule, I sadly don’t have much time to learn about how to manage a website.

Don’t get me wrong: I still plan on making an author website that offers both content and, hopefully, is as fun to visit as it is to create. I am an author and I am determined to write books that people can enjoy. Part of that game is having a hub of sorts — a website — for people to visit and to check out and learn more about my stories.

So, I’ve come to a decision that I think will change this website — hopefully, for the better.

And that decision is me considering changing my business name and, in addition, remaking this WHOLE website to better fit my future projects.

Here’s the reason: I have SEVERAL story ideas, and many of them all aim at different audiences and age groups. I don’t just want to write adult fiction, I want to write for multiple kinds of readers: adults, young adults, those who like short stories, etc. “Holdenhart Fiction”, which I named after the pen name I use for my adult series, is, I feel, too limiting. I think a better idea would be to come up with a name that can fit to ALL the books I write, rather than just one pen name that focuses on one particular audience and/or genre of book.

To help make up my mind, I will look for a business professional and ask for their advice on what’s the best course of action I should take.

So, while I do some business research and get a better idea of what I want to do, you can follow my progress on DeviantArt where I will post updates on my creative projects.

Additionally, I have also disabled the Mailing List here on this website as I consider whether I should use the feature provided by Squarespace or the one I’m currently subscribed to. Seeing as Squarespace already provides a Mailing List option, I think it may be easier to just go with that rather than subscribe to another Mailing List service and follow a hundred instructions to set up a mailing list that I’m not sure even works properly. Not going to lie — that is one of the BIGGEST peeves I have about website creating.

Again, I’m sorry for the inconvenience and the lack of any progress on this website. It may take a while, but I’m determined to improve and try and create a good website for my books and creative projects.

Thank you all for reading and have a good day.
